KIND (CHILD) (2019) is coming to ONE DANCE WEEK 2019. On September 20th, 2019 we we will peek into the children’s internal and external world. The Belgian company PEEPING TOM satiates the stage with remarkable dance aesthetics and transforms it into a magical fairy forest where children’s spirits roam in a dream and in reality for us to see.

World premiere of “ATMA”
On October 6 the contemporary arts fans are going to witness the world premiere of the first full-evening production by the rising stars from Greece Danae Dimitriadi and Dionysios Alamanos, ATMA. The two artists will put the finishing touches to the performance, named after their dance miniature, during an artistic residence in Plovdiv this August.
Pre-premiere of #minaret opens the festival
The pre-premiere of #minaret by the star of the Arab Region Omar Rajeh will open the 11th edition of the ONE DANCE WEEK festival. The piece will take place on September 21 at 19:30 in the Boris Hristov House of Culture in Plovdiv. Drawing on the destruction of the Great Mosque of Aleppo, #minaret is a performance that questions how we position ourselves in the face of such atrocities, an act of resistance against the demolition of one of the greatest and oldest cities in the world.

Papaioannou with an award from the MC of Bulgaria
THE GREAT TAMER of the notorious choreographer Dimitris Papaioannou is part of the 11th edition of ONE DANCE WEEK.
Celebrating May 24 the Minister of culture Boil Banov recognized the world-famous choreographer Dimitris Papaioannou with a Golden Age prize – a seal of Tzar Simeon The Great -and a diploma for his achievements in the field of culture. Papaioannou will present his piece THE GREAT TAMER for the first time in Bulgaria in September and during his stay will receive personally the award from the Ministry of Culture.
